I owe yall an apology, I have been slacking on the food portion of this blog. And while I feel like my excuse is perfectly acceptable – I don’t leave the store till until later in the evening each day and have really slowed down on cooking at home – I know that my fiancé is in dire need of some home cooked meals! (sorry, love) So I promise, soon you will be seeing more recipes and food inspirations here on the blog! Until then, I compiled a list of some of my favorite recipes that I will be making for Thanksgiving this year.
Maple-Roasted Brussel Sprouts
This recipe comes from one of my absolute favorite go to sites for any recipes – Camille Styles. Seriously, this lady can cook and knows exactly what tastes good. I’ve never been a huge fan of brussel sprouts but when combined with balsamic vinegar, maple, and cranberries they are to die for.
I love cranberries, especially for Thanksgiving. In my opinion – this makes a meal! Last year I made a recipe extremely similar to this one from Ezra Pound Cake, and I messed it up because I used Sugar In The Raw. If there ever is a time to use regular sugar, this is it. However, I added grated ginger to this recipe and it is delicious.
Butternut Squash Risotto
I made this risotto a while back and it was delicious, I knew it would become a Thanksgiving staple in our house. Heres a tip though – peel and dice the butternut squash the day before to save some prep time when you actually cook it!
Roasted Balsamic Sweet Potatoes
I am most definitely guilty of being a sweet potato lover. And something about roasting them with brown sugar and balsamic vinegar is delightful. Plus, you can keep it healthy by leaving off the marshmallows because you don’t even need them on this recipe.
Do yall have any go to recipes for Thanksgiving that you always use? I would love to hear them!
